In this program segment Dr Moeed Pirzada raised questions in front of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (EC) Director General Lieutenant General (retd) Hamid Khan as on what grounds he had resigned from the position of DG Ehtesab Commission. It must be noted that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (EC) Director General Lieutenant General (retd) Hamid Khan quit in a huff over amendments. In his resignation letter, Hamid cited changes made to the law supporting the commission by the provincial government as the reason for his decision. In the letter, he stated four “frustrations” due to which he decided to throw in the towel. Hamid wrote he agreed to join the commission not for the sake of emoluments but to help transform society. The K-P government recently amended the act through an ordinance which the K-P governor approved on Tuesday, February 9. The amendment reduces the powers of the director general of the commission and changes the accountability watchdog’s composition.Although Hamid raised his concerns over the changes in the law in a letter to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan, the watchdog posted a press release to its website on Tuesday welcoming the amendments.

An Exclusive Interview with Sheikh Rasheed !!! Interview was conducted few days after PML-N leadership criticized NAB activities in Punjab. PM Nawaz sharif and Rana sanullah openly gave statements against NAB in February 2016 and this interview was recorded in this scenario. Sheikh Rasheed said in the interview that Asif Ali zardari and Nawaz sharif are on same page when it comes to their corruption cases. He said that he had predicted already that NAB will now enter in Punjab and ultimately rangers will have to step in to do operation against militancy and big corruption scandals as well. He accused PMLN Government for corruption and appointments without merit. He said that only Finance Minister Ishaq dar has bettor position and close relations with PM, rest of the PMLN leaders didn’t even have access to meet their PM. He strongly criticized mega projects costs in Punjab.

Dr Moeed Pirzada in this program segment Congratulated Young Pakistani achievers in their respected fields and appreciated their work. Nergis Mavalvala, PhD is a Pakistani-American astrophysicist known for her role in the first observation of gravitational waves. Dr Moeed Pirzada also talked with Pakistani electrical engineer at the University of Texas at Arlington who has developed a new cancer cell detection method that will be able to improve early diagnosis of cancer. Samir Iqbal, an associate professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, detailed his team’s results in a recent Nature’s Scientific Reports paper called “Effects of Nanotexture on Electrical Profiling of Single Tumor Cell and Detection of Cancer from Blood in Microfluidic Channels.”
PM Nawaz Warning For National Accountibility Bureau (NAB) !!!!
Dr. Moeed Pirzada in this program segment with Mirza Shehzad Akbar who was a NAB prosecutor critically discussed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent warning to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was prompted by complaints from business tycoons and industrialists who had complained to the PM and President Mamnoon Hussain of maltreatment at the hands of the bureau. The prime minister’s body language and tone clearly suggested that all is not well between his government and NAB. He indicated the government was considering amending the law if NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry does not address his reservations. Besides, NAB has yet to clear the premier in cases of recruitment in the Federal Investigation Agency and construction of Raiwind Road. A couple of PML-N legislators from Daska and Okara, Punjab Education and Sports Minister Rana Mashhood and a close aide to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif are also facing corruption inquiries.
