Former Ambassador to the United States and PPP leader Senator Sherry Rehman joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to comment on the on going Hussein Haqqani furore, the Indian abrogation of Indus water treaty and foreign policy matters.
Regarding Mr Hussein Haqqani’s recent article, the senator said that Mr Haqqani is entitled to his own opinion but people’s party has always been disassociated from such statements. She said that when the memo gate scandal appeared, Mr Haqqani was summoned back to Pakistan and forced to resign.
Regarding the rumours going around herself that she wrote Asif Zardari’s recent contribution in Forbes, she said that she hadn’t written that article. She further said that Mr Zardari had previously written articles as well.
She said that the Indian abrogation of the Indus water treaty is a real ringer and it should not be taken too lightly. We’re already on a bad note with Afghanistan and it has been costing us a lot of trade.

Gen Retired Amjad Shoeib said that sending brigade to Saudi arab is separate issue from appointment of Gen retired Raheel shareef as commander of 41 countries military alliances led by Saudi Arab. He was talking in context of the news of Middle East Eye report, saying that Pakistan army is sending a brigade of combat troops to shore up Saudi Arabia’s vulnerable southern border.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a defense agreement from 1982 under which Pakistan can send brigade to Saudi Arab in case they need it for security. Gen Amjad said that this alliance is against growing presence of ISIS in different countries. Most of the countries in the alliance do not possess strong military forces and technologies. So they will require assistance and trainings from Pakistan and other main military forces.
While talking about ongoing military operation named Radul Fasad, gen Amjad said that it is an extension of previous operation zarb e azab. This will clear the sleeping cells of the militants and their facilitator & abettors as well. He said Army chief Gen qamar Javed bajwa’s visit to China is of utmost importance related to CPEC and bilateral relation with china.

Professor Shehbaz Gill, of University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne, joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to comment on the recent racist killings in the United states of America. Professor Gill said that this fresh wave of discrimination and hatred was fuelled by Donald Trump’s presidential campaign which was largely based on racist segregation, on the basis of color and creed. This ethnic violence does not know how to differentiate amongst brown people which incidentally constitute Indians as well as Pakistanis. He also said that hatred against Islam has been intensified by new administration’s smear campaign. He also said that President Trump would be beneficial for both Kingdom of Saudi Arab and Israel.

PPP is on the same page with the government on reinstating Military courts for two years: Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed
‘’The issue of military courts has been settled, all political parties agreed on reinstating military courts for two years term on 28th February’’, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed reveled in Dunya news Program “Tonight with Moeed Pirzada’’.
Declaring Panama gates, Dawn leaks and military courts as the biggest issues of the country’s current political discourse, he said,’’ Nawaz Sharif is conspiring against military courts amid Panama case decision and Nawaz sharif is taking credit for initiating operation Radd-ul-Fasad which is otherwise.’’
On Military Courts
Sheikh Rasheed said that Nawaz is on the same page with Zardari on the issue of military courts, he added that consensus exists between PML-N and PPP, which has already agreed on reinstating military courts for two years, he revealed that PPP held secret meetings with the government and are on the same page .He said, ‘’ Nawaz sharif wants to linger on the issue and is resisting the reinstatement of the courts and wants to use Zardari’s leverage, who is playing political gimmick on the issue’’. The government has failed to introduce reforms in the judicial system which shows the failure and unwillingness of the PML-N government, he claimed that Panama case decision is expected in 15 days and the Aml chief expects bold decision against the Prime minister, ‘’ Judges are fully aware of the facts in the case, government lawyers have failed to answer serious questions raised by the honorable judges’’.

Sheikh Rasheed said that finance minister is making everyone fool for taking credit on signing accord with the Swiss authorities on financial information sharing. He said that the government minster was involved in the biggest scam of laundering huge stash of cash.
Punjab operation has been halted
The AML chief said that Punjab operation has been halted, as Punjab police is not cooperating with the rangers. He added,
‘’I support Asif Zardari’s statement on operation by rangers in Sindh, where section 147 is enforced, the same has not been enacted in Punjab’’.
On Imran khan controversial statement regarding PSL final, he said that Imran khan has better understanding of cricket, the word Patecher is not a politically incorrect word and Khan Sahib has explained it.
On the PSL final Sheikh Rasheed said that Imran khan should have attended the final with a bat on his shoulder, however he had his own reasons for not attending.
Politics of PPP
Declaring Bilawal Bhutto a kid, Sheikh Rasheed said that Bilawal has a lot to learn and is politically immature. He said;
‘’In the APC meeting called by Asif Zardari, I advised him to give free hands Asifa Bhutto or Bilawal Bhutto in Politics, otherwise there political careers will be overshadowed by Zardari’s prominent presence’’.
Asif Zardari also wants to dominate the politics of PPP and under his leadership, he is trying to activate the party by bringing back those leaders, who had left the party, he said, that the political elites of Sindh have no other choice but to join the PPP.
The AML chief said that Army has no active role in politics, nor should it be dragged into it.
‘’It is a good sign for the political system that army has no active role in politics’’.
He revealed that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari have no cordial relations with the Army, they are neutral and not taking no sides.

Pakistan loses millions of dollars due to money laundering and illicit financial outflow, claims US State department report. Dr Moeed Pirzada had an extensive discussion with famous Businessman, Chairman of AKD Group Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, on the financial flaws and possible preventive measures to stop the illicit financial outflow.
The report further states that the Khanani group, “is responsible for laundering billions of dollars in organised crime proceeds annually. The Khanani MLO offers money laundering services to a diverse clientele, including Chinese, Colombian, and Mexican organised crime groups and individuals associated with designated terrorist organisations”.
AKD said that along with money changers, some of the private or investment banks are also involved in the money laundering. This is because of strict conditions and taxes through banking channel. Many investors banks or exchanges who take the money abroad by air with the permission of customs, also involve money laundering at some extent. Therefore banking channels should get reformed. Illegal remittances are more than 15 billion dollar or could be double, commonly known as ‘Hawala ro Hundi’.

Mr ansar abbasi said that government needs to explain that either the bloggers were running the blasphemous pages or not.
